Sumary
This work addresses the relation between education and consumption. In a culture that has prioritized consumerism over other important aspects, information and education become the cornerstones of the balance in society. The focus of this work lays in the responsibilities and obligations of the State, and then reviews an encompassing concept from different points of view (social, economic, and ecological.) In the following sections, food consumption and consumers are analyzed, including food labelling standards, as well as the long-debated issue of GMFs. As a conclusion point, a reference to food safety is made taking into account ‘warning’ as a governing principle in this matter |
