Seminario de actualización en Derecho Internacional Humanitario

Los días 4 y 6 de diciembre, en el Salón Verde y en la Sala Vélez Sarsfield, respectivamente, se desarrolló un seminario de actualización en Derecho Internacional Humanitario, organizado por el Observatorio de Derecho Internacional Humanitario, la Maestría en Relaciones Internacionales y el Seminario Permanente de Teoría e Historia del Derecho Internacional (SEMPITHIDIA) del Instituto Gioja.

Ambas jornadas contaron las disertaciones de Geoffrey S. Corn (ctedrático George R. Killam de Derecho Penal y Director del Center for Military Law and Policy de la Texas Tech University School of Law, así como Distinguished Fellow del JINSA Gemunder Center for Defense & Strategy y miembro del Consejo asesor del Center for Ethics and the Rule of Law) y Marta Bo (investigadora del Asser Institute de Amsterdam, Associate Senior Researcher en el Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI) y Research Fellow del Graduate Institute for International and Development Studies de Ginebra; es responsible de la Iniciativa Cassesse, un Proyecto de capacitación para jueces/zas en derecho internacional penal y transnacional, DIH y derechos humanos). El día 4 de diciembre, Geoffrey S. Corn comentó sobre "Criminalizing Attack Judgments and the Significance of Attack Effects". En tanto, Marta Bo expuso sobre "Mistakes and Errors in AI-Powered Military Targeting: A Responsibility Gap under IHL and ICL?". Durante la segunda reunión, Geoffrey S. Corn se abocó a "Precautionary Measures: The Neglected Cousin of IHL Principles". Por su parte, Marta Bo intervino sobre "A Legal Basis for Human Control over Autonomous Weapons Systems". El profesor Emiliano Buis coordinó la actividad.
