Abstract
The performance of generally non-controversial subjects of international law ushers in queries about the limits entailed in the notion of international legal personality. From a classic perspective, this concept does not recognize other mechanisms to create or apply law beyond the state dimension, which prevents it from providing a current and descriptive content of a fundamental and basic notion of Law. The general goal of this project is, precisely, to review, construct and revisit the content and extent of the concept of international legal personality. This will be achieved through a critical reflection on the impact of the concept of state sovereignty on its formation and legitimacy, proposing alternative answers which take into account the existence and actual relevance of other non traditionally identified entities as subjects of international law.
